The Mac Mini M1 is extremely good value for money. Today I see a price or $899.00 (+ state, local taxes). That's a full system for 900$. Now if you consider buying an Nvidia card - well you also need a host. An Nvidia card is expensive. The latest card is £1,399.00 sterling (RTX 3090). Building a host system is likely another £600 so the total system cost is £2,000. Almost double the Mac. The Mac Mini M1 is my personal computer and it handles everything I need accept machine learning and computer vision. Since those are special workloads I use my own assembled data science workstation for that.
