Yes but if one can avoid upgrades an M1 machine is good for many many years. My iPhone 8 is still perfect and we talk 13 now. Just installed Monterey on the Mini M1. Be curious to see what that is. 21.10 on Ubuntu and only had a driver problem with cuda. Not seen windows 11 so far!
